Notify Account Managers when a Campaign is suspended
A client's campaign was suspended and neither the client nor myself was notified. Upon investigation initiated by me, we were told the site was crawled and Bing's automated system determined the site did not meet editorial guidelines. We had made NO CHANGES to the site, so not clear why the site was flagged. The reps I spoke with did not know why the site was flagged either, and could provide no insight into what caused the flag.
After the Bing team determined the site was flagged in a crawl, we were told the editorial team would need to review it and if there were no issues, the campaign would resume in 3-5 business days.
As expected, there were no issues - and it took six business days for the campaigns to resume. During this time Bing left approximately $1,200 on the table, which we shifted to AdWords to try to meet our lead quota. Very frustrating.
Going forward, here's what I want to see:
- Alert the account manager immediately when a campaign is suspended, and provide the reason why and next steps for the account manager to take.
(Don't make me call in and spend 30 minutes discussing with a rep, my time is valuable and this should be automated)
- Shorten the editorial review process to within 24 hours, or within one business day.
(I first contacted Bing on 10/24, and the account did not resume until 11/1 - this is WAY too long to leave a campaign in limbo)
Thanks for providing this forum, and I hope this process gets tightened up soon.
After the same thing happened us - actually account on hold for over 3 weeks - I'm stupefied how poorly the editorial system functions at Microsoft. You would it wouldn't be impossible to send an email to their customers and inform them there is an issue with the account.
We saw the same issues with our Account too. It was suspended 4 days back and while checking the server logs, we found that the entire website was crawled by the bing automated system.
We were in regular touch with our Bing Account manager and were running the campaigns from last 5 years under their supervision.
It is still under suspension and no positive reply from the Bing team.
Can anyone help us out here with this similar issue?
